SUPERMODELS CARLA CAMPBELL & ORAINE BARRETT; SINGING MELODY, MISS KITTY FOR IRIE FASHION RAVE IN NYC

International Pulse supermodels Carla Campbell and Oraine Barrett are both confirmed to attend the 5th staging of Irie Fashion Rave in New York City this Sunday, April 25 at LQ, 511 Lexington in Manhattan, New York. Barrett will join numerous New York models on the runway while Campbell will served as celebrity guest host of the event.

Campbell has received worldwide exposure appearing in the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her clients include L’Oréal, Nike, Avon, Seventeen magazine, Footlocker, Miller Beer, Maxim, Target and Fubu while Barrett is best known for being the face of Ralph Lauren Polo and for his starring role in Rihanna’s “Man Down video.” Barrett along with the other models will wear clothing by local fashion designers John Paul Peirre, Rep Ja, Jewel Shannon, VP’s Riddim Driven, Houz Designs, Hope Wade, Original Stush and Romeich Wear (designer to the stars in Jamaica).

At the same event two years ago, Kingsley Cooper of Pulse Investments Ltd in Jamaica, who launched the careers of Vogue and Gucci models Nadine Willis, Jaunel McKenzie, Gaye McDonald, Jeneil Williams, as well as Carla Campbell was presented with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his contribution to the fashion industry. This year, Sirius Satellite radio Program Director/ radio host Pat McKay and record producer/artiste manager Robert Livingston – the man credited with pioneering the careers of Shaggy, Rayvon and Super Cat – will each receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to the entertainment industry. Jamaican rapper Heavy D and music producer Joel Chin will also be honored posthumously with the “Reggae Soldiers Award” for their contribution to the Jamaican music industry.

Event organisers have also announced that this year’s program will feature a special tribute to Jamaica and Trinidad.

“We have planned a special Jamaica and Trinidad 50th anniversary tribute, where reggae and soca music will be fused with fashion. I promise this will be a very exciting feature that should not be missed. The choreography will be handled by Tanisha Scott who is known for her work with international stars Sean Paul, Shaggy, Alicia Keys, Rhianna and Neyo” said event founder Syntyche ‘Syn” Dawkins.

Performers include Singing Melody – who will croon his smash hit “Collide” – and Alphonso Express. MC duties will be handled by the ‘Fluffy Diva’ Miss Kitty (Jamaica) and DJ Roy (New York). Special guests at Irie Fashion Rave will be the eclectic campaign models for Bikini Under The Bridge 2012.
