Caribbean Comedy Play In Brooklyn
The comedic hit Caribbean play “Letter from Leonora” will be staged at the Brooklyn Music School Theater on Saturday, 13th April from 8pm.
The play was written by the late accomplished Trinidadian Eric Roach and is being directed by Hemish Marlon Gervis of St. Lucia. It will feature an all-star cast of Caribbean actresses who will ignite its funny plot.
Letter from Leonora is set in a village in the 1960’s. It is said to be one of the most humorous pieces ever written by Roach. The play has been staged to wide acclaim to Caribbean audiences, including before the Heads of Government of the O.E.C.S nations.
Director Gervis laments that the staging of “Letter from Leonora” serves to expose the international audience to the fine work of our talented Caribbean artists. He wants everyone to come and laugh out loud while enjoying an evening of entertainment.
Infused in this staging of cultural expression dubbed “Caribbean Night” will be an explosive session of African Drumming with accompanying dancers.
Tickets cost $30 in advance and are available at JW Records on Church Avenue or online at www.eventbrite.com. The event’s HOTLINE is 1-347-692-9428.
