Boston Carnival Village Announce 2014 Events
Boston, MA Boston Carnival Village launches two new initiatives for Boston Carnival 2014. The two events are An Evening with Boston Carnival Village and Friends and the annual Jouvert Boat Cruise Face MASK IV.
These events are designed to give visitors to Boston Carnival an opportunity to experience the culture of Trinidad and Tobago. An Evening with Boston Carnival Village and Friends features a major Trinidadian SOCA & Calypso artist, Denyse Plummer at Moseley’s on the Charles, in Dedham, MA, on Saturday, August 16, 2014. The annual Jouvert Cruise FACE MASK IV where the participants are encouraged to wear a Face Mask, paint their face, wear a costume or just come as they are. The cruise leaves 60 Rowes Wharf, Boston at 8:00PM. Guests are also treated to traditional meal from Trinidad.
Boston Carnival Village online founder Mr. Michael C Smith has been working diligently over the past 10 years to make a difference in Boston’s Trinidad style carnival presence here in Boston. As a past member of the organizing committee he is very familiar with the circumstances that have both impeded growth and political strength of Boston’s Trinidad style carnival and has embarked on a mission since leaving the organization to correct these deficiencies.
Boston’s Trinidad style carnival was founded in 1973 by Ken Bonaparte Mitchell
(1942 -2008), and here at Boston Carnival Village we dedicate ourselves to improving Boston’s Trinidad style carnival to ensure that Ken’s vision remain a reality and is strong for the next generation of leaders to expand upon.
