Reggae King Radio Makes Debut on NYC’s WVIP 93.5
New York, NY– This past Saturday, November 4th, The Bajan King, Edwin Howell debuted ‘Reggae King Radio’ on WVIP 93.5 from 8-9am, making the radio station accessible to the entire NY Tri-state area.
Formerly of WLIB 1190AM and WWRL 1600AM, DJ and host, The Bajan King brings listeners the latest and greatest in reggae, dancehall and soca music as well as interviews with artists and tastemakers. The show will also include national and local news, entertainment, sports updates, and weather information.
Future features include the ‘Reggae ambassador’ segment which will give listeners a little history about Reggae legends such as Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown. A ‘Weekend news roundup’ will be a quick summary of all of the latest music and news from the past week.
“We are very excited about the ‘Reggae King Radio’ hour on WVIP,” said Edwin Howell, A&R at VP Records and Director of Music Programming for Reggae King Radio. “Judging from the first show this past Saturday, people are really enjoying it and feel this is what they need to start their weekend, music and news with a difference.”
Reggae King Radio is a prime outlet for the latest and greatest in reggae and soca music. Programming includes shows such as “Dub Rockers Show with DJ Ted Ganung”,. There is also a four-hour window of Gospel music on Sunday mornings. The Reggae King app that launched in May is available.
