Chardavid makes the connection with Sly, Charles Sinclair on latest single
Reggae singer, song-writer Iley Dread, who now goes by the moniker Chardavid, has put out another single from his soon-to-be-released album, Unleashed.
The Rastafarian crooner steps away from his traditional lovers rock groove with the song, Hail Rastafari. With an all-star cast featuring the legendary Sly Dunbar who created the riddim track and renowned bass player, Charles Sinclair as producer, Chardavid feels confident that this single will have intended impact.
“It was wonderful to collaborate with Sly and Charles Sinclair on this project. Over the years I have done a lot of work with the maestro, Sly Dunbar, and everyone knows he’s amazing. Sly has that special way of always keeping singers on the right track and delivering a riddim that suits your voice and persona.
“However, this is the first time I am working with Charles Sinclair in this capacity and it has been an eye-opener,” Chardavid stated.
A member of the original Messenjah Band, Charles Sinclairs’ credits include working with reggae greats Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru and Mykal Rose, Queen Ifrica, Kanan and also R&B legend, Lionel Richie just to name a few. Sinclair is now based in the US, where he keeps his fingers on the pulse of reggae music.
“It was a pleasure and an honour working with Charles Sinclair. He proved to be a very intense and discplined producer and I admire that a lot,” Chardavid recalled. “I feel the reggae magic coursing through my veins on this song and I hope listeners will respond to it,” the singer declared.
Hail Rastafari can be described as praise-worthy track which propels the singer out of his usual comfort zone. Live performances of this song, especially across Canada, have engendered quite a bit of positive vibes, as the artiste sheds his inhibitions and delivers
The single is now in rotation in New York, Jamaica, England, Canada and, according to Chardavid’s team, they have been receiving encouraging feedback from industry players.
Hail Rastafari is available for download on iTunes and the music video is in the making.
