Fakekou Wins with Two Fusion Soca Sizzlers
Fusion soca sensation Sterling “Fakekou” Callender wins with his new sizzlers “I Know” and “Weekend,” both now available worldwide from all major digital retailers (released on June 17, 2016), from FOX FUSE. Born in Trinidad and based between the U.S. and U.K., Fakekou has been churning out tunes with an international flair, for years now.
The calypso-infused soca track “I Know” was penned by Fakekou in London, and was produced by Parry Jack, who is based in New Jersey. “I just wanted to thank the ladies and show that you can be from any part of the world or ethic group, old or young, and as long you love soca and calypso, you can enjoy life,” declares Fakekou.
“Weekend” combines electronic and dance elements with soca and R&B sounds, and is another solid introduction of soca music to the global audience, while also satisfying core fans. The hybrid track was written by Fakekou and produced by Kevin Warren of Mud Hut Studios, based in London.
“My style is different from the rest of music out there, so I consider myself unique, and I’m working hard to master my talent and to fuse soca with other genres of music out there,” reveals Fakekou. “I just want to bring good music to the masses and take soca music to the highest level. Yeah bo!”
