Benjai Labeled 'Sex Symbol' Post Soca Monarch Semifinals Performance
Women all over Trinidad and Tobago are still buzzing over Benjai’s steamy performance at last weekend’s Soca Monarch Semifinals, where he stripped down to his underwear. Radio DJ’s are still talking about the performance over a week later and the youtube video has garnered over 90,000 views.
When asked about the attention he’s received from women now that he’s been newly dubbed ‘Soca Sex Symbol’ Benjai replied, “Well it was not intended, but if the ladies like my swank then I will give it to them”.
Benjai’s mega hit ‘Come Out To Play’ has dominated radio airways throughout the Caribbean since the lustrous Soca Monarch Semifinals performance. Come Out To Play was penned by Benjai (Rodney LeBlanc) and produced by Shawn Mr. Roots Mitchell. His other 2014 Carnival releases include Lick It In, Give It All To Meh, Dance, Bam Bam and Come Nah.
Even with the many years of success on stage, Benjai still finds the time to give back to several charities, recently performing in St. Vincent for the RISE UP SVG Charity Concert for the hurricane victims.
Since 2002, Benjai has been consistently released hit after hit, including tracks like Over and Over, By D Bar, Clear D Way, Amnesty, Take Yuh Time, The People’s Champion and of course the Trinidad and Tobago anthem entitled Trini.
