Vieux Fort Theatre, Arts and Cultural Exposé
As part of the 2016 St. Lucia National Arts Festival, several Vieux Fort entities, along with the Cultural Development Corporation (CDF), will be hosting a Street Theatre, Arts and Cultural Exposé at 3:30PM Saturday 23 April on Clarke Street.
The event, which will include street drama, fashion show, dance, masquerade, steel-pan, artists at work, a community art collage and poetry, is in keeping with an ongoing Vieux Fort initiative of always making sure the town hosts an activity to match each national calendar event, with the hope of enriching the arts, and cultural and social capital of Vieux-Fort, strengthening Vieux Fort as a community, instilling confidence in the future of the town, and enabling residents to take pride and ownership of their community.
The Street Theatre event is coming on the heels of the well-attended and highly praised Vieux Fort Nobel Laureate Literary Night held in January, which was a similarly motivated and collaborative effort among Vieux Fort groups and organizations.
