In support of the new album, Alborosie will also tour the U.S in February 2014. We would love to set up any features / album reviews, so if you have requests or plans for coverage, please let me know. I am happy to set up a phone interview this week or next if needed. The album is pretty amazing and Alborosie is a truly multi-talented musician.
On Sound The System, the Sicilian-born reggae artist not only sings, writes and produces his own music, but has a particular way of blending old with the new. He spends majority of his time in Jamaica and is a keen student of the island’s music. No matter whether its the roots or dancehall, Alborosie is equally adept as a singer, singjay or MC and can battle it out with all comers. The modern-day Renaissance man is fascinated by analogue recording techniques and plays many different instruments (including guitar, bass and keyboards) on the new album. He’s also adept at using Pro-Tools and the rest. He owns original equipment from legendary Jamaican producers like King Tubby and Coxsone Dodd in his home studio in the foothills of Kingston.
