Passion, politics and poverty collide as this stunning love story unfolds against a backdrop of political turmoil. Set in 1970’s Jamaica, Better Mus’ Come is based on a violent moment in history when rival gangs were enlisted by warring political factions to disrupt the democratic process, and bloodshed was unleashed in the streets of Jamaica. Better Mus’ Come begins in ’77 and ends the in the first couple days of ’78 during the Green Bay Massacre. This explosive film follows Ricky, a gang leader and political pawn, as he struggles to navigate the hardships of life in Kingston, and to define a better way of life for his young son.

Jamaican-born international music star Mr. Vegas is the distinctive voice behind many of the most recognizable reggae/dancehall hits of the last 15 years. Since his debut in 1997, the MOBO award-winning singer has built an extensive catalog that includes Billboard-charting hits “Heads High” and “Pull Up” and club staples “Tek Weh Yuhself,” “Hot Wuk” and “Gallis.” For his latest album Sweet Jamaica, Vegas pays tribute to his homeland’s golden anniversary by exploring the last 50 years of Jamaican music, from the roots of Ska in the early 1960’s through the birth of Reggae and into contemporary Dancehall.
