Dancehall, Reggae queens to invade New York May 24
An all star cast of seven of Jamaica’s hottest females will be descending on the Amazura stage in Jamaica Queens, New York on May 24.
Dubbed Invasion of the Queens it will be featuring Queen Ifrica, Etana, Spice, Sister Carol, Junie Ranks, Sister “Muma” Nancy and Lady Ann.
“The event will deliver an entertaining blend of culture, laced with old school dancehall and today’s rocking hits” said veteran concert promoter Donald Wright.
Queen Ifrica, Etana and Sister Carol the cultural crusaders are known for their biting social commentaries as they champion the cause of the voiceless through their many songs.
Daddy Don’t Touch Me There, Roots, Wrong Address and Down In The Ghetto are testament to their musical messages.
Spice, Junie Ranks, Lady Ann and Sister Nancy are expected to show their prowess on the mic as these queens of the dancehall need nothing else to prove where their deejaying skills are concerned.
Recently Sister Nancy’s Bam Bam has been featured in a Reebok advert and that speaks volumes on the deejay queen’s pull in the music industry.
Providing music for the night will be the Invasion Band and Nature Force Sound while hosting duties will be handled by Reggae Top 10 and Video Alley’s Suzie Q.
