Roger Meltzer is the Founding C-E-O and Director of A&R of Capsicum Records, a Hartford-based indie now known globally for its reggae-in-fusion sound — what DJs have called “Roots on the bottom, and pop on top.”
A former staff writer-producer-arranger at the Sound of Philadelphia (Philadelphia International Records), where he was mentored by Kenny Gamble, Thom Bell, McFadden & Whitehead, Jerry Butler, Lou Rawls, Bruce Hawes, Slim Marshall, and Bill Bloom among others, Roger is no stranger to Billboard and other music industry charts.
His songs have found their way onto one chart or another 47 times. In 2013 alone, three of his titles hit TropicalFete’s Top 100 International Caribbean Countdown.
Roger is also the producer and host of The Capsicum Show, a weekly one-hour show broadcast on UFDV Radio, 87.9-FM in Kingston on the internet which is simulcast on three U.S. and one U.K. stations.
A 36+ -year veteran of the music business, he frequently lectures on copyrights and royalties for nonprofit organizations. This is a return engagement for Roger on this subject for Topicalfete.
