STEM and Culture
Tropicalfete’s stem and culture program for students is designed to provide young learners with a comprehensive educational experience that combines elements of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with an appreciation for different cultures and diversity. The program aims to foster curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a global mindset among children, preparing them for the challenges of the 21st century. Over the course of the program, participants will engage in hands-on STEM activities, cultural exploration, and collaborative projects that encourage creativity, innovation, and cross-cultural understanding. Tropicalfete produced a limbo app for iOS and Android under this program and has other applications relating to culture in the development stages.
The students involved in the project presented below applied various STEM concepts such as coding, graphic design, and mobile app development to create the Limbo Game. This fusion of STEM and culture not only provided a unique learning experience but also showcased the power of technology in preserving and sharing cultural traditions.
The availability of the Limbo Game on popular app stores like Google Play and Apple Store not only reflects the students’ technical prowess but also serves as a testament to the potential impact of merging STEM education with cultural appreciation. It highlights how technology can be harnessed to both preserve and promote cultural traditions in the modern world, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation.
