Busy Christmas for Singer Colin Levy
November 2011: – ‘Twill be a busy Christmas for reggae singer, Colin Levy, as he takes time out of the recording studio to perform for fans.
Although Levy is “very driven” and totally focused on getting out his album, Unleashed, while putting the finishing touches on his autobiographical novel, he says there are a few shows in Jamaica that he simply must attend.
Among them are the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza to be held in Independence Park in St Elizabeth on December 25; Yard Fest Family Fun Day, a Unite The People-endorsed event the night before and an annual show at Seawind in Negril on December 27. The singer, whose single Lovers Holiday took up residence at the top of the Richie B Jamaica Countdown Chart earlier this year, says there’s nothing better than Christmas in Jamaica.
“It’s an annual ritual for me and this year it will be no different,” Colin Levy aka Iley Dred declared.
He has been involved with the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza since its inception and had words of praise for Irie FM’s Dancehall Master GT Taylor and the planning committee of the event.
“That show is always so very well produced and it is definitely one of the most anticipated events of the season,” Levy said.
With his album just about ready to be released, Levy says he has quite a few new songs which he is confident will connect with his fans.
“Yes, there is still the lovers rock songs, but sometimes you have to step out of the box and experiment with different types of songs. On this album, I will definitely be showing my versatility and maturity as an artiste, while keeping it real,” he explained.
Among the ‘A’ list producers on Unleashed are Stephen Marley, Barry O’Hare, Bobby Digital, Dean Fraser and Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor
