C-PAF Official Launch in Roseau, Dominca

Grand Launch of Caribbean Performing Arts Federation (C-PAF)

Roseau, Dominica – Caribbean Performing Arts Federation (C-PAF)Inc., which has been registered and incorporated in Dominica since 2012, officially launched with a Media launch on Saturday July 26th, 2014 at The Ruins Rock Café in Roseau.
The Directors on the Executive of C-PAF who were present for the Media Launch were the Chief Executive Directors – Irvin C Durand; Ross Le Blanc; Operations & Programs Director – Sandra A. James and Media & Communications Director – Jackie Cherebin-Weekes of Dominica, Grenada and St. Lucia respectively. Some Members of Dominica’s Task Force were also be in attendance.
The evening saw many of the local Media Houses in attendance who witnessed and recorded a great program which commenced with the Invocation by Ras Mo followed by Welcome and Introductions by Matthew Ross Le Blanc. The Concept was delivered by founder Irvin C Durand and general remarks on Program Development by Sandra A. James. The Feature Address was delivered by Gregory Rabess, Cultural Officer of the Department of Culture of Dominica. Jackie Cherebin-Weekes acknowledged all the media, sponsors and partners who assisted to make the C-PAF Launch a great success.
The evening featured national musicians in the bands, Shades of Green and Extasy alongside duet Tyson Johnson and Daughter. The featured artiste for the evening was Anguillan born former Cricketer now musician, son of well known regional artiste, Bankie Banx, Omari Banks who mesmerized the audience with his soulful melodies as he sang and played his acoustic guitar.

The Caribbean Performing Arts Federation (C-PAF) is a private sector Not for Profit organization registered in Dominica with representation throughout the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
• The mission of C-PAF is to foster and promote the performing arts primarily in the OECS sub-region and eventually on a global scale.
• The purpose of C-PAF is to facilitate the development of an enabling environment for the implementation of a more integrated OECS creative arts sector.
• C-PAF aims to develop the educational and performing arts programs targeting both in school (primary and secondary levels) as well as out of school youths
• Specific focus will be given to the professional and personal development of industry practitioners.
National Task Forces have been established in most of the territories of the OECS and official launches are scheduled for the near future, with St. Lucia being the next in line followed by Grenada and St. Vincent. The Task Forces are made up of Task Force Members and Resource persons with special interests transcending the varying aspects of the Performing Arts and support services.
C-PAF being a member driven non-profit organization, will immediately embark on sensitizing and recruiting members so as to achieve its goals and objectives.
The Federation seeks to partner with as many Governments, organizations, groups and individuals to work towards the development of the Performing Arts and to bring the talents and skills of our performers to a high standard to be export ready on the global market.
