NYC CONCERT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITY FOR EMERGING ARTISTS TO PERFORM ON STAGE ALONGSIDE MUSIC LEGENDS
‘Groovin In The Park’ is a fully loaded reggae and R&B concert that takes place in Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY on Sunday July 1. The star-studded lineup for this dazzling show includes reggae legends Jimmy Cliff, Beres Hammond and dancehall king Beenie Man alongside R&B icons Gladys Knight and Boyz 11 Men.
But in a surprise announcement, the show’s New York-based promoter Christopher Roberts says he is dedicating the first hour of the concert to supremely talented area artists who want to blaze the stage with amazing performances. The first hour will run from 1 PM to 2 PM and it will provide music lovers attending ‘Groovin In The Park’ with an opportunity to see the next generation of talent coming from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Interested artists are invited to email a youtube link of their performance to the festival immediately accompanied by a biography, a photograph, a song on MP3 format and contact information. All submissions should be emailed immediately to GroovinInThePark@gmail.com and final selections will be notified by email prior to performance date. The lucky handful of selected artists will also be invited to all promotional events leading up to the concert after the selection has been made.
‘Groovin In The Park’ is in part a tribute to three great nations who are celebrating independence anniversaries: the United States celebrating 236, and both Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago who are celebrating 50 this year.
Tickets for the event are already on sale at www.groovininthepark.com. ‘Groovin In The Park’ is sponsored in part by Grace, WBLS, 105.7 FM, Donald Vernon & Associates and the Door Restaurant.
