BOSTON CARNIVAL VILLAGE LAUNCH TV CHANNEL

Boston, MA – Boston Carnival Village launches two new initiatives. One a You Tube channel Boston Carnival Village TV (BCVTV) and the other a Smart phone app “Boston Carnival” as part of their ongoing efforts to improve Boston’s Trinidad style carnival standing in the world.

Boston Carnival app was designed to answer a typical question asked by many people visiting Boston Carnival Village web site, both local and international, and that is, where are the events taking place, when and what time, by installing the app on their smart phone they will have instant access to that information and more at their finger tips. In addition, the Boston Carnival Village TV is used to give a summary of the events that took place over the carnival season such as; interviews, band launching coverage, concerts and much more.

Boston Carnival Village online founder Mr. Michael C Smith has been working diligently over the past 10 years to make a difference in Boston’s Trinidad style carnival presence here in Boston. As a past member of the organizing committee he is very familiar with the circumstances that have both impeded growth and political strength of Boston’s Trinidad style carnival and have embarked on a mission since leaving the organization to correct these deficiencies.

The presence of Boston Carnival on the world stage was so poorly promoted that many people taught carnival was a thing of the pass or in some cases were founded by a non Trinidadian. We have now turned that image around. To do so, first we built a website, BostonCarnivalVillage.com, which has over 500,000 hits during the months of June through August, provided a presence on Facebook, Twitter and a Blog “Boston Carnival Village Speaks”. As we implement these two initiatives, we are refocusing our efforts on sponsorship programs for the bandleaders.

Boston’s Trinidad style carnival was founded in 1973 by Ken Bonaparte Mitchell (1942 -2008) and here at Boston Carnival Village we dedicate ourselves to improving Boston’s Trinidad style carnival to ensure that Ken’s vision remain a reality and is strong for the next generation of leaders to expand upon.
