“Dheen Ta Na” features two top stars of soca and chutney – the genre that is an offshoot of soca, which incorporates East Indian instrumentation and Bollywood beats. Chutney thriller Rick Ramoutar teams up with soca songstress Denise Belfon for the duet single. Ramoutar, a household name in Indo-Caribbean households and famous for his chutney party anthems, returns with this new banger and adds to his audience and fan base with soca’s Belfon.
MillBeatz Entertainment was formed by producer David Millien, whose talent and fusion sounds have made him a mainstay on Trinidadian radio and on soca platforms worldwide. Trinidad and Tobago-based JahLight Records crafts the inspirational Jehovah Riddim, available worldwide from all major digital retailers on October 28, 2014, from FOX FUSE. Loaded with 12 tracks, this new collection of hits from the Gospel reggae label shines as it receives a coveted feature on the iTunes U.S. Reggae New and Noteworthy chart, during its week of release.
Produced by Akeunde Pemberton and Dave “Elementree Dave” Danforth over the course of seven months, the Jehovah Riddim features Caribbean reggae Gospel sensations Kwesi Fontinelle, King Solomon, Righteous, Matthew Greenidge, Virtuous, Afyia Modeste, Zion, Silent Sah, Peculiar Princesses, Designers Original, Excellent Featuring Messiahs and Justice Featuring Mr. Song. Each artist penned their own track and the entire collection was recorded at the JahLight Records studio in Trinidad. A medley video for the riddim is currently in the works and is slated for release in early 2015.
JahLight Records is fast becoming known for crafting timeless Gospel reggae tunes and is on the forefront of this niche genre. “This is probably our strongest riddim release since our Passover Riddim released in 2011,” states Pemberton, producer and head of JahLight Records. “The purpose of the Jehovah Riddim is to glorify and lift of the name of the one and true God.
