Supermodel Willy Monfret and Guadeloupe Islands tomorrow at the Caribbean Media MarketPlace
Meet Willy Monfret, U.S. spokesperson for Guadeloupe Islands at the Caribbean Media MarketPlace on June 6 during the 2013 New York Caribbean Week.
On June 4, 2013, the Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board launched an e-marketing and social media campaign called “Let me show you my islands ” starring the Guadeloupe Islands and supermodel Willy Monfret as their U.S. “Ambassador.”
This campaign features a video miniseries of five episodes in which Monfret offers American travelers an insider’s look at his beloved French-Caribbean Islands. “Let me show you my islands” also highlights the best deals, activities, hot spots as well as the savory gastronomy of this very eco-friendly and welcoming archipelago.
It also celebrates the Seaborne Airlines’ new non-stop flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, running four times a week since June 1, 2013. Also featured is the new American Airlines’ weekly non-stop service from Miami to Pointe-à-Pitre operating since April 6th of this year.
Both Seaborne – with AA code share agreement – and American Airlines are now enabling convenient connections from all majors U.S. and Canadian gateways.
Thanks to his international modeling career and his lead role in “Right Thru me”, the music video of female rapper Nicky Menaj , Willy Monfret is already an icon in the United States. Originally from Guadeloupe Islands, Willy Monfret is a French-Caribbean Supermodel and world-traveling DJ now based in New York. He has hit the runways and done fashion shoots for the most prestigious brands such as Ralph Lauren, Benetton, Assaro, Calvin Klein and Sean John. He has also been featured in Vogue and graced the covers of GQ, Preference and Men’s Health amongst many others.
When asked why they picked Monfret, Sandra Venite, the Guadeloupe Island’s new U.S. representative answered: “Not only do his eyes look like our crystal-clear waters, but his genuine spirit and simplicity truly reflect the character of the Guadeloupe archipelago.”
Starting June 4, 2013, “Let me show you my islands” will feature one new video clip every tuesday over 5 weeks.
