One Of The Biggest Nights In Haitian Music Returns To Manhattan
NEW YORK, NY – Jaz Enterprise has announced the electrifying roster and new venue for its 9th Annual La Nuit Des Jeunes. The event is one of the most anticipated concerts to showcase Haiti’s contemporary music and culture. Targeting the younger generation of music fans, the show is scheduled on Saturday, April 5, 2014 for the first time at Pier 36, a spectacular live event venue located in lower Manhattan. Nine of the top names in the Haitian music industry will celebrate the ninth annual all-star extravaganza including headliners CaRiMi, Harmonik, Klass and 5Lan. Additional acts slated to hit the stage on the big night include Mikaben and Cruz-La, as well as DJ’s Stakz, Platinum D and Ricky Groov. One of Haiti’s most popular entertainers Kako Bourjolly will host the festivities.

New York-based CaRiMi is one of the most versatile and dominant Haitian bands for over a decade and continues to conquer the music scene with its latest album entitled “Invasion” that debuted as one of the top-selling albums on the World Music charts.
Hailing from Miami, the mega-talented Haitian band Harmonik has made a lasting impact in just five short years and has drawn passionate fans to their impressive musical repertoire with their new album “Diferan.”
Klass’ anthem “Klass it is baby. Yes it is baby.” is being heard across the airwaves and sold-out tours with the band’s triumphant freshman album “Fe’l Vini Avan” that is delivering on the promise of satisfaction guaranteed to Konpa music lovers.

Mikaben, a charismatic solo singer and successful songwriter in Haiti, will join CaRiMi on stage to perform their hit collaborations. Representing the next generation of Konpa, Brooklyn-based guest band Cruz-La will open the event with a medley of songs from their album “Men Cruz La.” A trio of top DJ’s including New York’s very own DJ Stakz, Montreal’s DJ Platinum D and Boston’s DJ Ricky Groov will also perform on a thrilling night of non-stop of entertainment.
Back by popular demand, comedian and actor Kako Bourjolly will serve as Emcee. One of the best minds in comedy, Kako is a fan favorite for his exhilarating live shows, TV commercials and philanthropic efforts to benefit Haiti through his Kako’s Kids Foundation.
Attracting enthusiastic attendees each year from across the U.S., Haiti and Canada, La Nuit Des Jeunes has earned a stellar reputation as one of the best Haitian-American concert productions. In previous years, Jaz Enterprise has produced La Nuit Des Jeunes at prominent New York City concert venues, such as the famed Hammerstein Ballroom, Roseland Ballroom and Terminal 5.
The advance ticket price is $40. The VIP ticket price is $100. Tickets will also be sold for $50 at the venue, which will be open to the public at 9:00 p.m. Showtime will begin promptly at 10:00 p.m.
