Classes Available for Registration: Group Steel Pan, Intro Stiltwalking, Yoga, Dance + Theater and 1-on-1 classes (Computer Music Production, Steel Pan, Violin, Piano, Drum Set). CURRENT Steel Pan + Stilts Ensemble members must also register via the portal.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What age you need to be to take lessons? Answer: Age varies per class, please register above on our portal for specifics.
  2. Does Tropicalfete accommodate students with disabilities: Answer: Yes. Tropicalfete is committed to creating an inclusive environment where students of all abilities feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated. Because every child’s needs are unique, we encourage families to contact us before registering so we can better understand how to support their participation.
  3. How do I sign up for 1-on-1 classes? Answer: When you sign up, you’ll reserve a free placeholder for your 1-on-1 class. We’ll then send you a form to choose your preferred time slot. After you submit it, a TropicalFete staff member will call to confirm your schedule and officially enroll you in our system. At that point, any class fees and additional costs will be collected to finalize your registration.
  4. Should I bring my own instrument to private lessons? Answer: Yes, but you need to get approval from instructor to ensure it meets industry standards. For group classes instruments are provided for you.
  5. Where are the lessons held? Answer: In person classes are 850 New York Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11203 -2721 (Corner of Linden BLVD and New York Avenue). We have other classes at schools, libraries and other locations in the community
  6. How long will I need to take lessons? Answer: The 2026 schedule is as follows: Spring semester (April-June), Summer Semester (July-September), Fall Semester (October-December)
  7. Can private lessons be rescheduled? Answer: Lessons can be rescheduled with 3-day advance notice.
  8. Is payment refundable Answer: Partial payment is only refunded if there is a cancellation on the instructors end. Any payments that need be refunded will be done at the end of the semester.
  9. Waiting list? Answer: If classes are not available or are fully booked please add yourself to the waitlist for the respective class through the registration form above. We will notify you when there is an opening in the class.
