HEINEKEN EUFA

Chelsea fans are still celebrating after the victory of their team at the UEFA Champions League final last Saturday May 19. The Blue team beat their red rivals Bayern Munich in a penalty shoot- out after the scored was level 1-1 after normal time. Whilst millions of football fans enjoyed the game all over the world either at home or with friends at bars and various spots, here in Saint Lucia Heineken presented the biggest viewing party for fans at the Derek Walcott Square. The event was enjoyed by hundreds of football fans who came out to support their teams or simply enjoy the lime whilst taking in the game on a 20 ft by 20 ft screen.
Heineken transformed an entire quadrant of the square with the Angels and Gladiators theme, where fans converged securing their spots on the lawn, on tables or grouping close to the Heineken bar for a full exciting afternoon which livened up the city of Castries. Heineken brand manager Gaius Harry says he was very satisfied with the way the event turned out and thanked fans and supporters for not only turning out in large numbers but having good clean fun too. “We have grown this event and the build up with the UCL promotion was very much embraced by Saint Lucians. So the culmination with the viewing party on the Derek Walcott Square was a real treat for our fans and we thank the supporters who are really the winners no matter the outcome,” Harry says.
Saturday’s event besides the viewing of the game and Heineken on special, featured music by the 2012 Heineken Green Synergy winner Selecta Twis, DJ Lovely and video mixing by Oaktreez. There were also lots of giveaways of Heineken paraphernalia, whilst VIP fans enjoyed ice-cold Heineken and eats in the VIP stand.
Ahead of the game Heineken staged the pre-EUFA Champions League Green Carpet party at Club Santic Rodney Bay under the theme Angels and Gladiators. The party afforded patrons the opportunity to win some cool prizes compliments Heineken and dance the night away to the music of Levi Chin, DJ Lovely and Selecta Twis.
