T&T Production House Lends A Hand In Inspiring With Positivity

Music is the perfect vehicle for transmitting messages to the world at large. That’s what T&T based production house, Jahlight Records bears in mind each time a project is undertaken at their studio. In December, the team’s 2012 musical masterpiece- the Seize The Day riddim, will be unleashed. On the riddim are some very talented and inspired reggae vocalists- Queen Omega, Fyakin, Jah Defender, Zally, Jah Van I, Roxy Singh, Fireson Bantu and Martinique’s Djama Keita. Collectively, the artistes on this riddim have made a concerted effort to preach positivity through sweet reggae music and the creators at Jahlight Records are highly optimistic of the result this project will have.

With business transactions already set through a fostered relationship with BFM Digital, the riddim will be available across the world on December 4 via iTunes, Amazon, Juno and other digital retailers. The seven songs on the riddim are ‘Who Feels It Knows It’ by Queen Omega and Fyakin, ‘Journey’ by Jah Defender, ‘Unite’ by Zally, ‘Accomplishment’ by Djama Keita, ‘Never Had’ by Roxy Singh and ‘Celebrate’, sung by Fireson Bantu. According to Akeunde Pemberton of Jahlight Records, the idea behind the riddim was to inform the world that opportunities must be seized, as time is precious and should not be wasted. “We can’t afford to take life and time for granted. While the sun shines, make haste. The most valuable opportunity we have is to get to know Christ and with that understood, we just can’t wait until our time is up and it’s too late,” he said. His sentiment is echoed in the lyrical delivery of each of the artistes on the riddim.

Already, a video has been done for one of the tracks- that being Martinique’s very own Djama Keita’s track, Love Mama Earth. By all reports, the video and single are doing very well internationally. Besides that, Zally’s single on the riddim, ‘Unite’ saw him attain the crown in the Reggae Earth United Competition 2012 and so, the Seize the Day Riddim was obviously the champion riddim that delivered a champion in 2012.

Jahlight Records continues to work hard at establishing a unique and enjoyed reggae sound for all artistes worked with. The Seize The Day Riddim is their final reggae riddim for 2012 and the feeling at the production house is that this riddim will be the next best production from Jahlight Records since their 2011 accomplishment via the Passover riddim of which Queen Omega and Roxy Singh were both a part.

Ahead of 2013, the production house looks toward additional projects. Already, they have started putting things in place for their first full length solo album for an upcoming artiste by the name of Matthew Greenidge, which is set for release in April. Additionally, with their consciousness very much a part of their in-studio ideals, the team is gearing up to focus a bit on gospel projects- an area that is highly anticipated.
