Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation now accepting applications for its Gifted Scholarship and Tuition assistance

Three Gifted Scholarships and 40 Tuition Assistance Awards totaling $700,000 Are Available for Music Students Interested in Studying Latin Music; Deadline To Apply Is April 10, 2016

The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® announced today it is accepting applications for the Gifted Scholarship Award and the Tuition Assistance Award from music students facing financial hardship. The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation will distribute 43 awards totaling $700,000 in an effort to continue fostering the next generation of xtraordinarily talented musicians who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world’s culture.

The Gifted Scholarship Awards provide monetary support to a maximum of three talented students experiencing financial hardship. An annual tuition stipend will be provided to those pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree at a music institution. The maximum amount awarded for these scholarships is $25,000 yearly per student, for a maximum of $100,000. The Tuition Assistance Awards is given to bachelor’s degree students at music institutions. Forty students will be selected and awarded a maximum of $10,000 each.

Scholarship beneficiaries will be selected from a highly competitive international pool of candidates by a committee of music experts. Selected applicants will be awarded with substantial financial help to study at a music institution of their choice, with the Latin GRAMMY Foundation’s approval.

Applications are now available at www.latingrammyculturalfoundation.com. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2016, by 11:59 p.m. ET. We encourage aspirants in the following 24 countries to apply: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela. However, students from all over the world are eligible.
