Busy Signal Provokes Conversation and Views with “What If!”

Kingston, Jamaica

Award winning Dancehall and Reggae artist Busy Signal released his conversation provoking music video “What If,” setting worldwide fans ablaze with comments on social media.

Set to a backdrop of fans and friends on a busy boulevard in Parade Gardens, Jamaica, Busy visually keeps the conversation casual by sitting on a fire hydrant and asking the question “what if when me say ‘step out’ mih did ah step back?” This initial question makes viewers take an immediate moments pause, but Busy continues. “What if I never mastered my craft … business lock.” These two questions amongst many others caused 21,000 plus fans to view the video within 24 hours of release on the artists YouTube channel.

“I’m making many statements within the 2 minutes and 44 seconds of the song” said Busy. “Fans are given the chance to ponder the deeper meaning and express their thoughts on social media. So far the feedback has been positive. I love my fans.”

Twitter user @terri_terriann says “love this song. Sometimes you need to stop and think before reacting.” Another user @gichstarbwoy quoted a lyric from “What If” then said “what if you never wake this morning … give thanks for life” while @therealjahdidi makes it clear that the massive in Kenya approve Busy’s new chune.

Released on the artists own Turf Music label, the video was directed by Dameon Gayle and Benjamin Lidsky who collaborated on the treatment of the video. Scenes include live footage of the artist in Dubai, as well as in Colombia riding bikes on their famous dirt trails and a cameo from 2015 JUNO award nominee Exco Levi.
